H Makeleni Radiographer PTY Ltd was founded in the year 2016 by Hazel Makeleni. Founded and registered by the experienced Ms. Hazel Makeleni, the practice is located in Khayelitsha. It has taken years of research by Hazel to assess the viability and sustainability of the venture. The operation focuses on the basic radiographic services to patients referred by General Practitioners (GPs) and clinics for those who can afford the fees and those on medical aids. Hzel is the director and practitioner as prescribed by the National Health Professions Council of South Africa. As a private practitioner Hazel is assisted by a radiographer, receptionist and a general assistant.

Hazel received her National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography from the Peninsula Technikon and later graduated at CPUT (Cape Peninsula University of Technology) with a Bachelor in Technology Diagnostic Radiography, Ms. Makeleni has practiced Radiography for 10 years at various places as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

It has been the founder’s dream to service the community by relieving the pressure on the public health service as it is congested. Members of the working community join medical aid schemes as they wish to get the best medical from private service providers. HMR Limited will service patients who can afford to use the specialist service that is being offered. This service has the advantage that a patient can make an appointment to benefit reduced waiting times and go back to the referring doctor with a written report done by a Radiologist.

HMR Limited will contribute to the development of Khayelitsha and the district by diversifying health service provision. This is a professional rather than a commercial venture, that seeks to put patients’ health a priority. HMR (Pty) Ltd uses the latest equipment and expert medical training to interpret and provide valuable consultations to the doctors who make the patient referrals to HMR (Pty) Ltd.
